New Year, New Beginning

New Year, New Beginning

It’s hard to believe it’s already 2014 – so what’s been happening at Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Canada? It’s a new year, new beginning.

Volunteers aren’t easy to find when everyone leads such busy lives. PHWFFC does have some fantastic Chapter (Provincial) leaders, and they’ve been as busy as ever helping our veterans learn fly tying skills and accompanying them on fishing trips.

Even so, our organization is still quite small and we could certainly use some additional volunteers to lead a Chapter where there is a vacancy, or to help in other ways. If you are interested, please make sure to contact a leader in your area if there is one – check here for contact information. Or, alternatively, get in touch with one of the other admin staff for help.

As the focus has, quite deliberately, been on helping those who need us, there have not been frequent updates for some time; we apologize for that. We know that even though some of our followers and supporters use other ways to communicate with each other – Facebook for example – not everyone does. Not seeing any website updates is therefore really disappointing.

All that is about to change. As we move forward in 2014, PHWFFC’s mandate is to do more to let you know what we’re up to. We hope to have more news coming in from the Regional Chapters, and will be telling you about any new Chapter leaders that join us this year.

We are also planning a calendar of all the upcoming events/activities so that we can keep you posted on those as well.

Website updates have included a User registration review, including the removal of a large number of fake registrations. If you have previously registered with PHWFFC and find the next time you log-in there is an issue, it may be that your registration was deleted by accident. If that’s the case, then we ask that you please re-register.

It’s going to take a little time to grow the website, but we hope you enjoy seeing what’s ahead this year.
